Q: Hello, I live in Ontario Canada. My 20 year old H250 has always been a sufficient heater and is situated approximately 20' from the pool. I plan to replace it with another H250, however previous recommendations (on this blog) suggest that an H400 is the better option for 18x36 pool.

A:
Hi, if a 250 has been sufficient for your pool for 20 years it should still be sufficient. Going to a larger heater may involve much more than simply swapping heaters. You would need to verify the gas line is sufficient size for the larger heater, and...

Q: Looking to replace an old Hayward H350ED1 pool heater. I see you only sell 250 or 400 units now. pool is 20x40 rectangular salt water. Is my natural gas meter a factor as to what size I should get?

A:
It is. Most likely the meter you have that worked with the 350 will be fine, but it is best to have the gas company come out and verify that prior to purchase.
